How long have you lived in Oakland? I’m been the East Bay for six years.

What do you do here? I am the founder of Geremia Design, a design studio that creates signature spaces through custom interiors and art curation.

Describe yourself in 3 words or less: Aggressive, creative, funny.

Why Oakland? Oakland is diverse, sunny, and has amazing food. The East Bay offers lots of space for me to work on pottery, and it’s flatter than San Francisco, so I can ride a bike. I hike in the nearby woods every day that I can. Oakland is also the closest spot to my client projects that I can function in. I generally don’t thrive in cities, but it’s necessary to be in close proximity to an urban center for the health of my business.

Your ultimate Oakland weekend? Reading on my roof, swimming, cooking and drinking with my friends.

Your favorite getaway outside of the Bay Area? I love Mexico City. It’s easy to get to and so much fun. I have been impressed by the culture every time.

Best coffee in Oakland? Trouble Coffee. It’s new to Oakland, and I am excited to have it nearby.

Your favorite place for dinner with friends? I love Pizzaiolo. It’s been my favorite for years.

Favorite bar? The Alley in Oakland is a great dive bar. There’s a man there that has played the piano every night for decades.

Any hidden Oakland secrets you can share? Temescal Alley has great stores that highlight local designers. I take my SF friends after brunch to prove we have chic stores.

Who is inspiring you right now? I love the work of the artists at Creative Growth. Their expressive images always feel fresh.

Whats on your stereo? Rihanna. But only when I work out.
