How long have you lived in Barcelona? OK…since I was born until the age of 4, then from the age of 7 to 21, and then back in Barcelona at the age of 28.
What do you do here? I do coffee as a profession. I buy fine green beans, I roast them, I brew them, I serve them, I distribute them, I train people to know how to use and taste them. In other words, I work in specialty coffee.
Describe yourself in 3 words or less: determined, hard-worker and independent.
What gets you out of bed each day? Making some good coffee (true story).
What makes Barcelona so special? perfect size city, not too big not too small, we've got the beach and the mountains. we've got such lovely weather 8-9 months of the year, and of course lovely people living and visiting.
Your ultimate Barcelona weekend? Drive elsewhere - Pyrenees in winter, and Costa Brava in the summer.
Best coffee in Barcelona? Mine!
Best rooftop for a drink? Not that common in Barcelona, unless you fancy posh hotels, I rather having a vermouth on a terrace at noon. I'd say bar Montse (Arc de Sant Agustí, 6El Raval) or Bar Las Delicias (Ctra del Carmelo).
Favorite beach? Well I am responding to this interview from the Island of Formentera, best beaches in Spain by far...
Favorite gallery or exhibition? The Miro Museum is actually a pretty special building with a view, design by Sert.
Favorite weekend getaway outside Barcelona? Madrid, at least once a year, for the fun of going there and walking around and having beers and tapas all weekend long.
What’s on your stereo? Bigott, Maria Rodes, Sanjosex, Beirut and lots of british indie rock
And who is inspiring you right now? never really admired anyone, but I admire Richard Williams, head roaster at Nude Coffee Roasters in London; and Rob Dunne from DunneFrankowski for his creative point of view in the coffee industry.
Words you live by... coffee, is, a, fruit.
